South Korean ambassador visits Port of Tacoma Aug. 31

Join a roundtable discussion with Ambassador Han Duk-Soo of South Korea Aug. 31 to talk about the Korean Free Trade Agreement.

If approved by Congress, the Korean agreement would be the first U.S. free trade agreement with a major Asian economy and the largest trade deal in more than 15 years.

The U.S. International Trade Commission estimates that the trade agreement's reduction of Korean tariffs and tariff-rate quotas on goods would add $10 billion to $12 billion to annual U.S. Gross Domestic Product and up to $11 billion in merchandise exports to Korea.

The ambassador's visit is organized by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S.-Korea Business Council, and Korean Women's Association.

The discussion is from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Korean Women's Association International Place at 1702 E. 44th St. in Tacoma. Reserve your seat by Aug. 30.
